Canadian Chef Claudio Aprile partners with Noble Premium Bison
CALGARY (July 6, 2021) – Canadian chef Claudio Aprile takes the road less travelled with Noble Premium Bison to show Canadians the benefits of eating and cooking with bison. The exciting new partnership features chef Aprile’s own Warm Bison Steak Salad recipe and gives consumers tips on how to prepare the striploin cut of bison to bring out the most flavour and tenderness of the meat.
“It is so exciting to work with a well-respected, talented chef like Claudio Aprile. His unique and innovative culinary style shows consumers how versatile cooking with bison meat can be,” says Kelly Long, Partner & CEO of Noble Premium Bison. “It is important to us and the ranchers we work with to show the public that bison is an accessible, delicious and sustainable protein, and chef Aprile is able to convey that message to consumers.”
Chef Claudio Aprile is a restauranteur, cookbook author and has been one of three judges on popular CTV show MasterChef Canada since 2014. Aprile has opened several successful restaurants in Toronto including Colborne Lane, Origin and Copetin Restaurant & Bar. As a well-respected chef in the Canadian food scene, Aprile adding his stamp of approval to Noble Premium Bison is a meaningful affirmation to the founders and bison ranchers across Western Canada.
“I encourage you to take the road less travelled—try something wild. Try something Canadian. It’s good for you, and it’s also good for the planet and I know you’re going to love it,” says Aprile. “It’s so Canadian. It’s one of those proteins that if you haven’t discovered it yet, you really should. It is, I think, one of the most delicious proteins out there.”
Aprile explains the versatility and health benefits of cooking with bison. “Bison is a wild meat, but it doesn’t have a gamey flavour,” says chef Aprile. “It’s very clean and lends itself to many different food styles.” Canadian ranch-raised without hormones or the use of antibiotics, bison is a natural choice that works well in a variety of meals. Grass-grazed bison is a heart healthy lean protein, contains one of the best Omega-3/Omega-6 ratios of any red meat and is high in iron, B vitamins, zinc and selenium.
By choosing to eat bison meat, consumers are supporting the regeneration of degraded landscapes, replenishing topsoil, restoring watersheds and threatened species and ensuring bison thrive too.
